About Me

My work explores my particular niche obsession with media, celebrity, film and imagery. I like to describe myself as a human IMDB so why not centre my whole practice around it!

To create my work, I use oil paint to achieve a soft, blurry, dream-like image to reflect how you might remember a film-still, image, video through a moment of nostalgia or anemoia.  I draw inspiration from Hito Steyrel’s Poor Image theory and work to stylise the pixelated into dreamy, challenging the conventional hierarchy of digital images. My exploration of ‘Pop Culture’ investigates the joining of low culture, low-class imagery, and formal artistic expression.
